is a time filled with candy, fun decorations and, unfortunately,
quite a few pet-related accidents,” says Jack Stephens, president
and founder of Pets Best Insurance of Boise, Idaho. states in a media
release. “When putting out your buckets of candy and eerie décor,
don’t forget to think about the health and safety of your
four-legged friends.”
Some
of the more unusual Halloween-related claims received by Pets Best
Insurance include:
- An Australian Shepherd being treated for a mysterious bite wound on her neck.
- An Alaskan Malamute ingesting a corn cob decoration.
- A mixed breed dog ingesting walnuts, which are toxic for pets and can block intestinal tracts.
- An English Setter getting at the candy supply and winding up at a veterinary hospital after overindulging.
